Science is a Party!

Yes, Science on the Road does special events and parties, too! For some spectacular science and fun rolled into one, try these celebrations that will make a bang (literally). Call 412.237.3374 today!

Family Science Nights
Instead of asking the kids what they did at school today, get involved! These ready-to-go packages are perfect for school carnivals or parent nights. Each theme includes 10 activity stations, which take kids and families about 45 minutes to complete. Choose Color and Light, Physics Fun, Colossal Chemistry, or Eyes on the Environment.

Capacity: 150
Fee: $400 for two hours of activities
Requirements: 15–20 adult volunteers to help facilitate the activities.
(Your Carnegie Science Center presenter will conduct a training workshop for volunteers 45 minutes
before your event begins.)

Science Make & Take
Great for festivals, carnivals, games, and other casual affairs—anytime you want unique activities to entertain the crowds. Everyone who visits our activity table gets to make something to take home! Choose from a variety of science activities like harmonicas, ultraviolet detecting rings, bubble-ariums, and liquid nitrogen activities. From toddlers to grown-ups, everyone will be talking about the fun they had— and what they learned!

Capacity: 50–100 people per hour (varies based on activity selection).
Fee: $150 for the first hour; $100 for each additional hour.

Birthday Parties
Celebrate your special day in a special way when Carnegie Science Center comes to your house… or wherever you decide to have your party! Your party package includes a Carnegie Science Center T-shirt for the birthday girl or boy, 45 minutes of interactive science demonstrations and Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream made right before your eyes. Great for kids up to age 12.

Capacity: 25 students maximum (ice cream available for up to 15 guests; $10 for each additional guest)
Fee: $225

Achievement Parties
From perfect attendance to improvements on test scores to team victories, why not celebrate with science? Turn a great achievement into another learning opportunity with a Science on the Road Achievement Party. Your group will snack on Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream made right before your eyes and enjoy a hands-on science demonstration with a fun, festive theme.

Mad Mixtures
Chemistry made happy! Make play-dough, bubble cups, and experiment with tie-dye. For grades K–2.

Sweet Science
Create your own candy treats while learning about changing states of matter. Make lollipops and gummy treats and experiment with chocolate molds. For grades 4 –6.

Science-N-Toys
Construct your own toys, and find out how they work. Make play-dough, slime, and bouncy balls.
For grades 3–5.

Science with a Sparkle
Compound science makes you glamorous! Mix up your own lip-gloss, sugar scrub, and body glitter.
For grades 3–5.

Wizard School
Graduate from wizard school with actual flying colors. Make sandy candy wands, shrinky dinks, and capture the dragon flip sticks. No muggles please! For grades 4 –6.

Crime Solvers
Be a criminologist, and learn how real crimes are solved. Experiment with different types of fingerprinting and six mystery powders. For grades 4 –6.
