Group Reservations Policy

Carnegie Science Center will be introducing a new group visit reservation and refund policy. This policy is meant to guarantee tickets to groups with reservations and reduce the ticket availability issues caused by no-show groups.

Group rates are available to groups of 15 or more individuals with advance reservation. Advance reservations are reservations made at least two weeks prior to the visit date. Groups with fewer than 15 will be charged for a minimum of 15 people at the group rate.

Group reservations are not guaranteed until the group leader has received a Visit Day Confirmation letter from the Carnegie Science Center reservationist. For fastest service, group leaders should call the reservationist at 412.237.3400, then press 7. A reservationist is available between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday. Website inquiries do not constitute reservations.

For best service, groups should make reservations at least two weeks in advance of their desired visit date. Many Carnegie Science Center experiences have limited seating capacity and/or occupancy. Ticket availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Special requests for specific demonstrations or theater programs are not available when reservations are made within two weeks of the visit date.

To guarantee their reservations, groups must return a signed copy of their visit contract. The visit contract is included in the conformation packet mailed to the address provided at time of reservation.

Groups making reservations less than two weeks before the visit date must guarantee their reservation with a credit card payment at the time of reservation.

Reservations can be adjusted (pending ticket availability) until two weeks before the visit date. Adjustments include changing the date/time slot and adding/subtracting guests. Within two weeks of the visit date, Carnegie Science Center cannot guarantee ticket availability for another date. To guarantee ticket availability, finalize the number of attendees in your group at least two weeks before your visit date. Carnegie Science Center demonstrations and theater programs have limited seating capacities and/or occupancy.s

Check in on the day of your visit to confirm attendance before entering the exhibit areas. Check-in is located on the ground floor at group reception. At check-in, groups with more than the reserved number of guests will be charged for extra guests at the group rate, pending ticket availability. Carnegie Science Center cannot guarantee that tickets will be available for additional group guests. To guarantee admission for all members of your group, provide an accurate count at the time you make your reservation. Groups with fewer than the reserved number of guests will be charged for the total number of guests.

Groups will receive tickets for timed experiences upon final check-in on the day of the visit.

- Payment must be made in one form of payment on behalf of the group. Carnegie Science Center accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or checks made payableto Carnegie Institute.

- Indiviuals not included in the group wil not receive the group rate.

- Groups are to provide each person in the group with group identification. Stickers or T-shirts with the group name are ideal. For safety, do not include individual names.
