Exhibits play an essential role in unlocking the imagination of all ages and inspiring young minds to pursue their dreams. SPARK! A Campaign for Carnegie Science Center is bringing new, refreshed, and reimagined science exhibits to Pittsburgh’s favorite place for hands-on learning.

The Science Center is one of the region’s most beloved cultural and educational attractions. Our expansion will provide many more ‘Aha!’ moments for kids and families, and play an even greater role in the ongoing development of the city’s North Shore corridor.

An important part of the Science Center’s planned expansion is a new, two-story, 14,000-square-foot Special Exhibitions Gallery that is sure to have significant economic and cultural impact in the region. The expansive space will reclaim the Science Center’s ability to host large, blockbuster-quality science and technology exhibitions, and reestablish Pittsburgh as a destination for extraordinary traveling shows.

H2Oh!: Why Our Rivers Matter
H2Oh! is a new exhibit at the Science Center that explores Pittsburgh’s rivers and aquatic ecosystems located just outside Science Center’s doors.

Four initiatives in all, BodyTech is all about creating learning experiences on health and the human body: through the BodyWorks exhibition, opening in October 2016; the BodyStage, a live theater review of how the body stays healthy; and BodyForum and BodyLab, which will deliver onsite and offsite opportunities to learn about careers in healthcare and contemporary health issues.
